The UAE and the Sudan War
This article argues that the UAE is a structurally significant external enabler of Sudan’s RSF, pursuing economic and strategic interests that prolong the war and deepen humanitarian catastrophe. Alleged UAE–RSF coordination, including links through Libya, sustains RSF operations and financial autonomy via gold revenues. While the RSF bears direct responsibility for atrocities, external backing is assessed as a key factor entrenching stalemate, regional instability, and long-term diplomatic costs for Abu Dhabi.
