Honest review: The new Grounds cafe, The Coffee Factory in Everleigh is definitely an impressive venue. The high ceilings, the straight out of the 70s brown and orange decor, the tubes of coffee suspended above the dining room pushing beans to 'roasting room', is all very instagrammable. The vibes are great for a cute date, a boozy brunch, celebrations. The menu for eat-in and take away are very different and I've heard reports that the take away menu is better. We ordered a three egg omelette with stracciatella and greens and avocado on sourdough with tomato and stracciatella with poached egg added. As far as breakfasts go, it was average at best. The omelette was more stacciatella than omelette and at $25 a pop before adding a slice of toast (extra $4), it's probably worth it if you're a cheese fan. For us, it was heavy and too rich. The avocado on toast ($23) was, again, more stracciatella than avocado, so much so that the middle of the middle of the toast got soggy really quickly. It is worth saying that both of us had just finished a work-out and was craving a clean, healthy, protein packed breakfast so perhaps we chose the wrong venue for this, but this is also not the first time I've been underwhelmed by an instagrammable cafe.
