I haven't had a banh xeo this good since the last time I was in Da Nang.
That time, I was instructed to go down an unmarked laneway and told to ignore all the other restaurant's poachers and make a bee-line for the one at the end of the alleyway, where I'll find the best banh xeo in Da Nang.
This banh xeo, a crispy tumeric crepe filled with lemongrass chicken and bean shoots, is from Banh Xeo Bar in Rosebery. I figured if the place's namesake is the dish, it's got to be decent. It didn't disappoint. It came with fresh herbs, pickled veg, lettuce and dipping sauce.
