The last time I picked up a tennis racquet and attempted to play was over 15 years ago and it was also the last time. I was so terrible at it, the balls flew in all directions, I would either be hitting too hard or missing the ball entirely and I could see how frustrated my tennis partner was at the situation. That was enough for me to stay away from the sport and keep believing I was an awful player and just didn't have it in me. Turns out, I just needed a better coach and a can do attitude. I released the fear and judgement and I actually did okay, even managed a few volleys and earned my first blister, which I'm oddly proud of. So do that thing you didn't think you could, you might surprise yourself. I certainly did not have "learning to play tennis" on my 2024 bingo card.
