Honest review: 

The new Grounds cafe, The Coffee Factory in Everleigh is definitely an impressive venue. The high ceilings, the straight out of the 70s brown and orange decor, the tubes of coffee suspended above the dining room pushing beans to 'roasting room', is all very instagrammable. The vibes are great for a cute date, a boozy brunch, celebrations.
The menu for eat-in and take away are very different and I've heard reports that the take away menu is better. 
We ordered a three egg omelette with stracciatella and greens and avocado on sourdough with tomato and stracciatella with poached egg added. 
As far as breakfasts go, it was average at best. The omelette was more stacciatella than omelette and at $25 a pop before adding a slice of toast (extra $4), it's probably worth it if you're a cheese fan. For us, it was heavy and too rich. 
The avocado on toast ($23) was, again, more stracciatella than avocado, so much so that the middle of the middle of the toast got soggy really quickly. 
It is worth saying that both of us had just finished a work-out and was craving a clean, healthy, protein packed breakfast so perhaps we chose the wrong venue for this, but this is also not the first time I've been underwhelmed by an instagrammable cafe.

Solo dates nourish the soul. It’s a privilege to sit with yourself, to ponder about life and get to know yourself intimately, like a real date.
If you can give that time to someone else, why not extend that to yourself?

Trying to eat cleaner so pasta was out of the question, I subbed in roasted cauliflower and found it quite filling.This was actually really good for meal prepping if you work from home, I had everything in seperate containers and whipped up the butter sauce in 15 seconds or less to drizzle

How To Eat Banh Xeo - Vietnamese Crepes

I haven't had a banh xeo this good since the last time I was in Da Nang.
That time, I was instructed to go down an unmarked laneway and told to ignore all the other restaurant's poachers and make a bee-line for the one at the end of the alleyway, where I'll find the best banh xeo in Da Nang.
This banh xeo, a crispy tumeric crepe filled with lemongrass chicken and bean shoots, is from Banh Xeo Bar in Rosebery. I figured if the place's namesake is the dish, it's got to be decent. It didn't disappoint. It came with fresh herbs, pickled veg, lettuce and dipping sauce.

Madam Ji in Sydney's Darlinghurst is rebellious Indian food. I loved the mural of gorgeous Indian girls in traditional costume.
They made a killer margarita and martini, which always makes for a great start to the night.
Not traditional, but the burrata tadka was the perfect starter, served with crispy naan chips to mop up the sauce.
When faced with the decision to order old-faithful butter chicken or Madam’s Special Chicken Curry, we went with the latter and were so glad we decided to be a little rebellious. It was perfect with the garlic, cheese naan, which I turned into a pizza slice. A must-order is their lamb chops from the tandoor, the meat was incredibly tender and juicy.

This is my fav pizza hack for those Sunday struggles or when you don't feel like waiting for a delivery.This frozen, "Best Margarita Pizza", from Aldi are about $7 and you can just keep them in the freezer until you're desperate. Because they're plain, you can add whatever toppings your heart
