Who can use Identity Protection?
Any eligible verified individual can apply to protect names and variants appropriately associated with their identity. You do not need to be a public figure.
What’s the difference between the two plans?
Identity Protection covers a core namespace of up to 3 approved names and variants. Identity Protection Plus provides broader coverage of up to 10, Priority Claim Review and additional priority services.
Can I protect any handle I want?
No. Requested protections must have an appropriate relationship to your verified identity and are subject to review.
What if another person has the same name?
Namespace Protection does not give one person ownership of a shared name. Media.com considers legitimate name overlap when reviewing protected names and handles.
Do all protected names become active handles?
No. Each profile has one active canonical Media.com handle. Other approved names may be protected defensively without becoming active profile addresses.
Is Protected Handle Claim Review included?
Claiming a protected handle is free with Standard Review. Priority Review is included with Identity Protection Plus.
What happens if I cancel or downgrade?
Subscription protections stay in place through the paid period, then enter a grace and review period rather than being released immediately. When downgrading, you choose which protections to keep. Names independently protected by Media.com stay protected regardless of subscription.
Does this protect my name across the internet?
No. Namespace Protection applies within Media.com and does not replace trademark or other legal protection.
