Some tips for our students... 🎯1. Set Clear Goals Break large tasks into smaller, manageable goals. Use the SMART method: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. 📚 2. Use Active Recall Instead of rereading notes, quiz yourself. Try flashcards (e.g., Anki), close the book and explain the topic from memory, or write what you remember. 🔁 3. Apply Spaced Repetition Spread your study over days/weeks. Review info 1 day, 3 days, 7 days, 14 days after first learning it. (Apps like Anki and RemNote help automate this.) ✍️ 4. Teach What You Learn Explain topics to a friend, a pet, or yourself in the mirror. This forces you to organize your thoughts and identify gaps in your knowledge. 🧠 5. Mix Subjects (Interleaving) Instead of studying one subject for hours, rotate between subjects or topics. Helps you retain information longer and apply it more flexibly. 🛑 6. Avoid Passive Studying Don’t just highlight or reread. Instead: Summarize in your own words, create mind maps, or answer practice questions. 📅 7. Use the Pomodoro Technique Study 25 minutes → break 5 minutes. After 4 rounds, take a 15–30 min break. Keeps your mind fresh and helps with focus. 📵 8. Eliminate Distractions Put your phone on Do Not Disturb or leave it in another room. Use apps like Forest, Focus To-Do, or Cold Turkey to stay on task. 🛏️ 9. Prioritize Sleep and Breaks Aim for 7–9 hours of sleep per night. Your brain consolidates memory during rest—pulling all-nighters does more harm than good. 💧 10. Stay Hydrated and Eat Brain Food Drink water regularly and eat balanced meals. Omega-3s (fish), nuts, blueberries, and dark chocolate can boost brain performance. I will be making a specific video on specific tips for year 12 students on youtube and for here. Be sure to watch out for it in the coming weeks!!
