US private payrolls growth accelerates in September

United States private payrolls growth accelerated in September, according to the ADP National Employment Report released on Wednesday.

Private employment increased by 90,000 jobs in September, following a downwardly revised gain of 36,000 in August.

Economists had expected private employment to rise by 70,000 jobs after a previously reported increase of 38,000 in August.

According to market estimates, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics is expected to report that private payrolls increased by 85,000 jobs in September, following a 127,000 gain in August.

Non-farm payrolls are forecast to have increased by 90,000 jobs in September after rising by 162,000 in August.

The unemployment rate is expected to remain at 4.1% for a third consecutive month, although risks are tilted to the upside.

A Conference Board survey released on Tuesday showed a deterioration in consumers' perceptions of the labour market in September.
