We are the first major social media community to validate each and every user. We understand the need for a safe anonymous space for some, but the other guys have that covered.

I don't understand this point.

The identity verification provider could also simply encrypt the data and not give Media.com the key, but instead only the encrypted data.

Media.com could still ensure that users are verified while allowing them to operate under a pseudonym as long as they follow the rules.

If they do not, they will be blocked, and if they try to create a new account, Media.com will see that it already has an encrypted data record for that person and inform them that they are blocked and will never regain access.
