My name is Brigette Panetta. I am the partner of James Mawhinney, the founder of Media.com.&nbsp;&nbsp;Over the past 4 years I have witnessed the most shocking treatment of James in relation to our family’s investment business, Mayfair 101. Australia’s corporate regulator (ASIC) made outrageous false allegations about James and the business which have personally impacted me, our young family, and the lives of nearly 600 Australians and their families.&nbsp; It is a disgraceful situation. &nbsp;We lost our family home and had our personal belongings sold without our knowledge to people we once called our friends. The world was literally pecking at our remains. It was brutal.&nbsp; &nbsp;This horrific situation commenced just two days before I had our daughter, just as the pandemic set in. My birthing experience was almost terminal. I was in ICU for nearly five days and needed three blood transfusions. I went on to raise our daughter practically alone while James fought to protect his business and our livelihoods.&nbsp;&nbsp;The injustice that has occurred is inhumane. A Parliamentary Inquiry into the motives and actions of ASIC is needed urgently. I am extremely disappointed and concerned that this can occur to a compliant and thriving business without as much as an interview, letter, telephone call or office visit to voice their concerns.&nbsp; Things need to change.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;For more than four years I have carried the burden of how this terrible situation has impacted the lives of so many. Now I am ready to speak up and help others. &nbsp;I am building a community of people needing support and a voice. In the coming months I plan to give members of the public an opportunity to ventilate severe injustices impacting them and their loved ones.&nbsp; Together we can raise awareness in the hope of a better future for our children.&nbsp;
