Australia's social media age ban is being challenged in the High Court on the grounds that it restricts young teens' implied right to freedom of political communication.

"We're disappointed in a lazy government that blanket bans under-16s rather than investing in programs to help kids be safe on social media," he said.

I do believe there needs to be verification at a minimum on platforms with restricted content on what certain age brackets can see. I don't believe banning under 16s is the right answer as it will mean they will attempt to create fake profiles and use VPN's.
