Last summer, I went on a hiking trip that changed the way I see nature forever. The plan was simple: climb the Eastern Ridge and spend two nights in the mountains. What I didn't expect was how peaceful — and challenging — the experience would be.
We started early in the morning, just as the sun peeked over the hills. The air was fresh and cool, carrying the scent of pine trees and damp earth. With our backpacks loaded and spirits high, we followed a narrow trail that twisted through the forest, steadily climbing higher. 🌄

As we ascended, the landscape changed. The tall trees gave way to shrubs and rocky paths. The air grew thinner and colder, but the views became more breathtaking with each step. To the west, we could see layers of rolling hills stretching far into the distance. Birds called from above, and once in a while, we’d spot a deer or a fox disappearing into the bushes. 🏔️👍💯

By midday, we reached a plateau where we stopped for lunch. We sat on flat stones, eating sandwiches and drinking water while admiring the valleys below. Clouds drifted lazily overhead, casting moving shadows across the land. It was quiet — no traffic, no phones, just the sound of wind and the occasional rustle of leaves.
The second part of the hike was more difficult. Steep inclines and loose rocks made every step feel like a small victory. But the higher we climbed, the more rewarding it felt. Eventually, we reached a small mountain lake, perfectly still and clear, reflecting the sky like a mirror. We set up camp nearby and watched the sunset paint the peaks in shades of gold and red.

That night, under a blanket of stars, we sat around a small fire, sharing stories and sipping hot tea. The cold crept in quickly, but wrapped in our sleeping bags, we felt warm and content.
