Introduction

Media.com does not allow the following:<ul><li>Violent Users or Groups: These include people or organizations that use or promote physical violence, whether it’s against people, animals, or important infrastructure. This includes terrorist groups, violent extremist organizations, or anyone who commits or supports violent attacks; or</li><li>Hateful Users or Groups: These are individuals or groups that intentionally promote hate or violence towards people based on items including their race, ethnicity, color, caste, national origin, immigration status, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, medical condition, or veteran status.</li></ul>

What We Prohibit

We strictly prohibit users from:<ul><li>Supporting, affiliating with, or promoting violent or High Risk Users and their activities.</li><li>Engaging in violent acts, recruitment, or offering services that further the goals of dangerous individuals or organizations.</li></ul>

Violations

There are some exceptions to this policy:<ul><li>Reformed Groups: Organizations that have renounced violence and hate, or are involved in peaceful resolution efforts.</li><li>Government Entities: State or government organizations, including elected officials.</li><li>Educational Content: Material related to dangerous organizations that is clearly for educational, documentary, or newsworthy purposes.</li><li>Non-Related Offenses: Individuals with criminal convictions that are unrelated to their activity on Media.com.</li></ul>

Exceptions

Anyone can report violations of this policy by using our reporting tool.

How to Report Violations

While we're in Beta, we use manual investigation methods as well as community flags to find and remove high risk accounts and content. We find violations in the following ways:<ul><li>User Reports: Users can report content or profiles using the “Report” button found on posts or profile pages.</li><li>Internal Review: Our moderators regularly review the platform to detect and remove harmful accounts.</li></ul>

About This Policy

Media.com prohibits the use of Media.com by:<ul><li>Violent Users or Entities: Defined as groups or individuals targeting humans, animals or essential infrastructure with physical violence or violent rhetoric. This encompasses terrorist organizations, violent extremist groups, perpetrators, facilitators and supporters of violent attacks; and,</li><li>Hateful Users or Entities: These are groups or individuals systematically and intentionally promoting, supporting, or advocating hateful conduct, which includes violence or targeted harassment towards anyone within a protected category, such as: race, ethnicity, color, caste, national origin, immigration status, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, serious medical condition, and veteran status.</li></ul>

Prohibitions

Media.com strictly prohibits:Affiliation with or promotion of the activities of High Risk Users; those engaging in or promoting violent acts, recruitment activities, or providing/distributing services or support to further the objectives of High Risk Users.

Exceptions to Media.com’s Dangerous Organizations Policy include:(a) Entities that have reformed, denounced violence and hate, or are engaged in peaceful resolution processes.(b) State or governmental entities, including those with elected public representatives.(c) Content relating to High Risk Users that is intended to be educational, documentary, or newsworthy purposes.(d) Individuals convicted of criminal offenses unrelated to Media.com.

Violations of this policy can be flagged via our reporting tool.

Flagging

The Media.com platform uses human moderators to identify and remove accounts that may be high risk. Violations may come to our attention through the following methods:<ul><li>User Reports: Users can report inappropriate profiles directly through the platform using the “Report” button available on each post or user profile page.</li><li>Regulatory Reports: We may receive reports from government agencies that help us identify non-compliant accounts.</li><li>Internal Review: Our team of internal moderators regularly reviews the platform to proactively detect and address violating accounts.</li></ul>

Detection and Enforcement

Media.com provides users that have been flagged under this policy with a right to appeal. Appeals will be allowed in exceptional circumstances only.
