High Risk Users

At Media.com, we are dedicated to maintaining a safe and respectful community for all users. This guide explains our policies on high-risk users, who may pose a threat to our platform or others.

High Risk Users Rules of Engagement

Our Commitment to Safety

We are committed to protecting our users from harmful behavior, including threats, violence, and illegal activities. We take action against users or organizations involved in criminal acts, fraud, or promoting dangerous activities. This includes groups like crime syndicates, cybercriminals, and individuals who aim to harm others.

Media.com uses Stripe to process payments, so all users must also follow Stripe’s rules for prohibited activities, especially those involving high-risk countries or individuals banned by U.S., U.K., E.U., or U.N. sanctions.

We do not allow any content that promotes or threatens criminal activity. If we believe a user or group poses a threat to others, we will take swift action to prevent harm.

What is Not Allowed

Media.com prohibits:

- Criminal Users or Groups: Any individuals or organizations attempting to engage in illegal activity on or through Media.com.
- Promoting High-Risk Users: Supporting or promoting violent acts, recruitment efforts, or offering services that assist dangerous groups or individuals.

Exceptions

Certain cases may be exempt from this policy, including:

- Reformed individuals or groups that have denounced violence or are engaged in peaceful resolutions.
- Governments and state representatives.
- Content meant for educational, documentary, or news purposes about high-risk users.
- Individuals convicted of crimes unrelated to Media.com.

Reporting Violations

How We Enforce This Policy

We use a combination of automated tools and human moderation to detect and remove accounts that violate this policy. Here's how we identify issues:

- User Reports: Users can flag inappropriate profiles directly through the “Report” button.
- Regulatory Reports: We also receive alerts from government agencies.
- Automated Systems: Our system continuously scans for violations and flags content for review.
- Internal Review: Our team actively monitors the platform to identify problematic accounts.

Appeals Process

If your account is flagged under this policy, you have the right to appeal in certain cases. Appeals will be considered in exceptional circumstances only.

Working with Law Enforcement

We work closely with law enforcement agencies to protect our users and prevent harm. If we believe any content violates the law, we may share the information with relevant authorities as outlined in our Guidelines: Law Enforcement Liaisons.

For more details on on threats and harmful content, see our Guidelines: Bullying and Harassment.

Our goal is to provide a safe, enjoyable space for all users, free from high-risk behavior.
